The Supervisor of Biomanufacturing oversees manufacturing personnel, ensuring compliance with cGMPs, CRL Quality System, and process documents. They conduct training, schedule personnel, and lead continuous improvement activities while enforcing regulatory guidelines and internal policies. Additionally, they provide assistance in revising process documents and mentor direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees manufacturing personnel in equipment setup, equipment operation, and processes in accordance with cGMPs, CRL Quality System, and process documents.

  • Conducts and/or schedules training for new employees including media fills.

  • Schedules personnel to support all production related activities.

  • Aids management in the revision and/or writing of process documents to assure accuracy and completeness. This includes but is not limited to reviewing BPRs and associated documentation for accuracy, compliance, and presence of all verification signatures.

  • Assures employees understand duties, responsibilities, policies, and procedures.

  • Advises management on personnel management functions.

  • Leads and implements continuous improvement activities and assists with projects as assigned.

  • Enforces adherence to regulatory guidelines and CRL internal policies.

  • Takes part in Technology Transfer. May collect, analyze and summarize information and trends.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Schedule, Shift Structure & Location:

This is a 100% on-site position based at our flagship advanced therapeutics facility in Memphis, TN.

To support our continuous, 24/7 biomanufacturing scale-up, this role operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule utilizing a structured 2-on/2-off, 3-on/3-off alternating pattern.

  • First Shift (Day Coverage): Standard 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM floor rotation.

  • Second Shift (Evening Coverage): A unique, mid-day to late-night 10:30 AM-10:30 PM rotation. This specialized block allows you to lead our evening operations and keep built-in, predictable days off without having to work through the middle of the night.

Onboarding Note: To ensure your absolute success, all new leaders undergo an initial 1-month comprehensive training and facility orientation period on a standard Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM day schedule before transitioning to their designated operational floor shift.

Current Openings: We are actively interviewing for leadership nodes across both squads, with an immediate, priority focus on placing a supervisor over our 10:30 AM – 10:30 PM Second Shift team. Shift placements will be calibrated during the interview process based on site operational needs and candidate alignment.

Qualifications:

  • AS or BS with a minimum

  • 3 years of applicable experience

  • 1 to 2 years of leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Exhibits exceptional leadership qualities.

  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills

  • Must possess effective written and oral communication skills

  • Must display a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit frequently throughout the workday (approximately 2.5–5.5 hours per day).

  • Ability to stand frequently throughout the workday (approximately 2.5–5.5 hours per day).

  • Ability to walk frequently throughout the workday (approximately 2.5–5.5 hours per day).

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Driving is not required for this position.

  • Occasional reaching above shoulder level may be required.

  • Occasional bending and stooping may be required.

  • Occasional use of hands for pushing and pulling activities.

  • Occasional use of hands for fine manipulation, including handling tools, equipment, keyboards, and small objects.
